If the power is out, or the sealed head, cut-out, tails or meter is damaged, burning or arcing, call your Distribution Network Operator — not an electrician. The UK-wide free number is 105, which routes to your regional DNO 24/7.

Works from any landline or mobile — reports power cuts and gets you the right DNO for your postcode.

Cut-out, meter or service head damage
Everything from the DNO's service cable up to and including the meter tails (before your main isolator, if fitted) belongs to the DNO / MOP. If it's damaged, overheating, or blocking work Paul needs to do, call the DNO to come and make safe or replace it. Paul will happily coordinate the visit as part of a consumer unit change or supply upgrade.
