Horror Finds
Real electrical dangers, found and fixed.
A snapshot of genuinely dangerous faults uncovered on jobs — the reason a proper EICR from a qualified contractor is worth every penny.

A true antique
An installation so old it warranted a call to UKPN on 105 for a free safety inspection — well past its safe service life.

Just way too hot
Discoloured, melted terminals from sustained overheating — moments away from ignition.

Time for a replacement
A consumer unit so degraded that repair was no longer an option — full replacement required.

Aftermath of a fire

TikTokShould be simple! Should be fairly inexpensive! Quoting for an extra socket off an existing circuit (Therefore a minor works) but no anti surge device, suddenly it’s becoming expensive and almost unjustifiable but we know the regulations are there to comply and for safety. So difficult to explain the reasoning when it’s just one socket. #allcabling #electrician #electrics #upgrade #modifications

TikTokA Brighton church EICR (Electrical Installation Condition Report) A very small, old fisherman’s cottage which is over a hundred years old With an old UKPN legacy sub main which they don’t repair anymore as it’s deemed the client’s responsibility 😳 #allcabling #electrician #electrics #safety #eicr

TikTokUpgrade of a few old fluorescent lights in a storage center to take led and replace a whole fitting I prefer this option as dedicated led fittings are bad for the environment and the client can easily change the lamps (Bulbs!) without calling me out I also found a bad water ingress/leak issue two hours before anyone started to work so I could inform management to get an early cleanup arranged 👍 #allcabling #electrician #electrics #upgrade #led
